Form tabs

Hi there,

I have three different forms of which I would like the user to interact with on the same page.  Normally I'd use tabs to present information to the user.  I'd like to contemplate having say... three tabs and a different form on each tab.

I know one of the initial catches will be submission of changes in any one or all of the forms if the user hits submit in any one of the forms.

Big picture question, is this at all possible?

Thank you.

I just tried a quick test that seemed to achieve your goal.

  1. Create two forms and set both of them to "Submit this form with Ajax"
  2. Create a page with a tab element
  3. Put each from on a different tab
  4. Submit a form and note that the page doesn't refresh.
  5. NOTE: I made a field on each form required to test whether that form attempted to submit itself when the other form did, and the result was that it didn't

Hi Rob, Thanks so much for your insight and effort!!!   Your test was headed in the right direction, other than... What I would like to see happen is... If the user changes information in either of your two forms, and if the submit button is clicked on either form, then BOTH forms update.

Then my guess is to get rid of the Formidable submit buttons and create your own button somewhere on the screen and use jQuery to submit both forms. It might get tricky with required fields, but it seems worth a try.
