We get a lot of forms filled in by spammers using FBI, Apple, Google, Nokia etc. as the company name. All fakes. So I applied multiple conditions on the submit button that if those company names are used, the submit button disappears making it unclickable. Or does it? The condition works and hides the submit button, but somehow these fake forms still end up in our inboxes. How are they able to send them without a submit button? Maybe hitting "enter" or "return" buttons"? How can I block these folks from sending their Russian gibberish crap?

Is Rob LeVine a time traveler from 56 years ago!? We might have crossed paths back then. Never know.

Yeah, the forum software provides laughs, if nothing else.

I had this issue on a customers web site.  Masses of Russian spam everyday.I installed CleanTalk's anti spam plugin, it is cheap to license.  It has been doing a great job and has cut out almost all spam. You could also use Askimet, which is normally installed as a plugin when you set up your site. The spammers have clever ways of causing the spam and always done by robots.SMB

Tony, do you have a reCaptcha or Turnstile on your form?  I had a spammer that was using one of my forms to send emails to people.  I was using Askimet and several of Formidable's spam prevention measures but none of that made any difference.  The only thing that did finally solve it was adding a reCaptcha.  I normally do use that on my forms but was having problems with it, so had removed it.

I have reCAPTCHA enabled. They must be using some sort of script that enables the hidden SUBMIT button.

I do have reCAPTCHA at the bottom of the form as well. This is a breach somewhere that Formidable forms needs to figure out.

reCAPTCHA is not enough. You need some anti-spam working.  Askimet, Cleantalk, or other.FF do NOT control reCAPTCHA, Google do.  If spammers have tools/bots that can get around reCAPTCHA it is not FF's fault.

Well, Askimet did not stop the spammers from messing with the form I had problems with, only reCAPTCHA. If you think there are problems - "a breach Formidable Forms needs to figure out", then you should submit a ticket with support.

I don't have a problem with Formidable. I use Cleantalks Anti Spam and it works fine.

FF has responded and recommended that I add the spam company names to the WP comments blacklist. I did so and we'll see if they get blocked via that means.
