User Registration Form - API Metada Call

Hi there,

I'm building a user platform with the registration process done by Formidable Forms. I want to run an API data validation with another server and when I call for the metadata (ACF Fields), the API response is that those metadata values are empty. I'm almost sure the API is calling the metadata before the user is registered (So the values entered are not in the ACF fields yet), so I think my best route is to use the frm_pre_create_entry filter to pull this data.

What would be the correct structure to call this metadata from formidable forms to the API at this step before the registration is complete?

Thanks for your attention.

Pablo, I think the post comments are working better on this site than the Answer block. I have a sneaking suspicion that the reCAPTCHA is an issue. I made a mistake before after writing a detailed answer to Phil Cox's post. I made a mistake with the stupid reCAPTCHA popup and hit verify. Nothing happened, then I realized my mistake and clicked the 3rd square. The answer went through and it triggered the awaiting moderator error and I lost the answer.

I saw that you answered 55-years ago. Did you have an issue with the reCAPTCHA when you wrote your answer? And did what happened to you trigger the "awaiting moderator" error?

By the way, your answer came to me through email. You clarified things perfectly. Thank you. You're on the right track for the way your system is designed. You've probably spent a lot of time engineering with ACF. Everything you're doing with ACF can be done directly by Formidable and you're already using the registration add-on. ACF does not have to be in the mix at all.

With the nonsense going on in WordPress world around ACF, I believe its future is at risk. You can't divide someone's baby in two. If you're familiar with the controversy, you'll know what I mean by that. Because of this, I believe it's prudent to make plans to migrate away from ACF and use Formidable as the one tool to fill need that you already have in your toolbox. It's efficient and mitigates risk.

Thanks a lot Victor. I will keep developing using the $_POST array you suggested. Regarding the ACF controversary, I didn't know anything about it. I hope it doesn't become a thing in the future, I have too many things going on already through ACF that I would be lost trying to migrate. :O

Thanks again 🙂

There's already been a court order issued. You can Google the details.

Your question is literally impossible to answer. Nobody can provide a correct response with the details you've provided. What ACF fields? What API? What do you mean by before registration? Are you saying after the use hits submit, or after the registration is actually activated by some verification method. When and before are words that require detail. Please provide details about your design. Otherwise, all I can say is perhaps. Use the pre_create filter, but use the $_POST array as your data source.
