I’m experiencing an error where if I submit a form via formidable forms with akismet enabled using an email that only has one letter like [email protected] the form will give a “the captcha is missing from this form” error, the error is not triggered if I use two letters in email like [email protected]. 

Disabling askimet resolves the issue, but I can reproduce the same error if I connect to a vpn (with akismet disabled) and then submit the form with any email length ([email protected] or [email protected] or longer), even with akismet disabled, but less consistently. I can reproduce the error on multiple wordpress installs that reside on the same server. We have wp_footer in theme, can reproduce error in 2024 theme and the issue persists even when we’ve disabled all plugins / cacheing and have done extensive troubleshooting.

Can anyone else reproduce the error with akismet installed by using a one letter email address like [email protected] and submitting a contact form on their site or is it just me?

Did you ask your question in an Akismet forum? The problem is most likely with Akismet rather than Formidable.

I have not, but this venue should have 100% FF users, which is what I'm trying to test with akismet.

Yes, 100% FF users, but how many still use Akismet? Not one of the websites I maintain uses Akismet. Formidable simply passes through the email and receives whatever response comes back from Akismet. Formidable has nothing to do with Akismet's verification process.

These are the FF forums and I'm troubleshooting FF. Your experience is not everyone's and some FF users most certainly use akismet. If they can help per my original query that appears to be akismet related, it can help me and the FF team whom I'm also working to understand the underlying issue better given the many variables involved with different environments.If others are unable to reproduce the error, that can help us in the troubleshooting process and the opposite is true 🙂
