Knowing how to build interfaces from Formidable to REST APIs is a core skill in enterprise application development. If you've never constructed an API integration, use Postman to test your JSON. Once you get it working in Postman, it's fairly simple to convert it to Formidable API JSON. Send your requests as RAW in the Formidable API add-on. You should also use the log add-on to capture your API requests.
Thanks, Victor. I know Netsuite has the API system in place, I was just seeing if anyone was successful using it with FP.
I haven't encountered more than a handful of developers that have the kind of experience to integrate FP with an enterprise tool like Netsuite. That's an Oracle tool and Oracle is all about enterprise solutions. I did a lot of Oracle work with PeopleSoft when I was in corporate.
If there were a market for integrating with Netsuite, there would probably be an add-on already. Formidable has add-ons for almost all the CRMs popular with SMBs.
Philosophically, I see Netsuite integration as a level 1 enterprise integration, similar to the project I wrapped up yesterday. I code named that project Laundry King. This client is what I consider ideal for entry level enterprise. They have been using Formidable for a very long time and have accumulated approximately 50K orders and inspection reports. They have grown and are bursting the small business seams. They have over 90 locations in 9 states.
The company is riding a success streak and management asked their IT group to produce a Business Intelligence Executive Dashboard to quicken their decision making to drive further growth. They are using Tableau and Data Bricks for the front end display. My job was to create an operational data store and interface from Formidable's data. This resulted in almost 300k business intelligence rows that are being fed into data bricks.
I'll be very surprised is someone steps up and says they've integrated with Netsuite before. You have what I believe to be a very rare opportunity. If I were bidding on this project, I would walk away for anything less than $25k. You're looking at about a 3-mo. project if you provide SDLC level documentation.
I've done quite a bit in SFDC but never worked in NetSuite before. This project should be a very simple one, where we're only passing web leads into their CRM as part of a complete 6-website overhaul, moving it all into one new parent company after the acquisition and merger. They have 6 locations throughout the Southeast (VA, TN and the Carolina's, down to GA/FL), but everything will run through one web to lead form and they handle it internally from there. I may even just create the form within the NS system itself, and feed it over with an iframe to simplify things, then expand into other single-purpose forms as the marketing/tracking needs arise.
