Can you explain in more detail what you're doing? e.g., what do you mean by "new form" and "form earlier"? Do you mean that when someone starts filling in a new form entry there's a field in it that displays a photo from a previous form entry (using some logic to figure out who to display which photo to)?
Hi Rob, thanks for your reply. Actually I am designing a form where the user can upload a photo. After the photo has been uploaded the same photo shall be displayed as a thumbnail within the same form and the user can fill in other datas as well. How can I manage this?
OK, so similar to a user profile page where the user uploads a headshot, and then that becomes their profile picture. If you want to show it in the form, I envision having to use jQuery to get the file contents and display it. If you want to display it later on, it's easy to do in a view.
This sounds good. Where can I find this jquery function. Actually I am working with a german version, therefore it might be a different translation. Could you give a hint or a link to an example? Thank you
Unfortunately, it's not a function, it's custom coding. You'll have to do it yourself or hire a developer to work with you. https://formidable-masterminds.com/developers-directory/
Ok, I understand. Does it mean that it can be done with HTML coding? There is a widget for this.
I don't know what HTML coding means in this case. Since the page is already displayed at the time you want to do your thing, you have to use Javascript/jQuery to have the page act as you wish. It sounds like you're a little past your current knowledge base at this point. I suggest reaching out to a developer or diving in and learning how jQuery works. When I work on projects like this, I always leave the people with a full detailed description of what I did, so that they can do it themselves the next time.
Ok thank you so far for your support. I will talk to a developer at this point. Wish you a happy day ahead. Thomas
